On Apr. 4th, Education Department of Guangdong Province announced the list of approved projects to "improve quality of undergraduate teaching and teaching renovation in Guangdong Province (2022)" (Yuejiaogao [2023] No.4). The "Future Technology Institute" project initiated by President Mao Junfa and the Department of Optoelectronic Information Science & Engineering has been successfully approved, which is the sole project of this kind awarded in Guangdong Province this year.

Facing the development demands of new engineering disciplines------"Go Broader and Deeper for Breakthroughs", the Future Technology Institute will enable the university to upgrade the interdisciplinary organization, develop novel educational frameworks for multi-disciplinary talents and strategic technology innovators.
