Introduction

Volunteer Association of College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Shenzhen University was established in June 2019. It was formed by the merger of former Volunteer Association of College of Physics and Energy and former Volunteer Association of College of Optoelectronic Engineering.

It is one of the branch of Shenzhen University Volunteer Association, and also one of the student organizations under the leadership of the Youth League Committee of College of Physics and Photoelectric Engineering.

It is relatively independent, but also closely linked with the school and the college student organizations, division of labor cooperation.

  In line with the purpose of "dedicating love, serving others and advocating the spirit of obligation", the association takes "basing itself on the campus and facing the society" as its principle and "offering love to help others" as its goal, striving to serve the teachers and students of the school and the public.

Since its establishment, the association has organized or co-organized a number of volunteer activities to provide a platform for students to do volunteer work. Regular activities such as helping children with homework and assisting teachers in the special children's center with classroom education. In addition, the association also cooperate with Shenzhen University Volunteer Association to carry out U station in October.

Activities organized by this association were also well received. Among them, volunteer activities of knitting scarves for old people and children in winter won the title of "Excellent Volunteer Activity" for many times. Aid education won the gold medal in the 2019 Summer Practice Team Competition. The association has also won the title of "Outstanding Volunteer Club" for many times.

Under the care and guidance of college leaders and teachers, and with the support and help of the students, the association grows sturdily. In the future, we will also take active steps to better serve students, colleges, schools and society.

Featured Activities

1.XINGZHENZOUXIAN（Knit the scarves for the elderly）

At the end of the autumn, The Association recruited volunteers throughout the school through various means of publicity. After that, the association provided wool and knitting needles. Through teaching, the volunteers finished the scarves they had knitted themselves and wrote down their wishes on small cards. At the end of the activity, volunteer representatives went to nursing homes or rehabilitation centers with scarves and blessings to convey warmth and care to the society.

During the event, each volunteer has put their heart and soul into it, demonstrating the social responsibility of Shenzhen University students to the outside world.

2.SIDIANBANKETANG (16:30 Classroom)

By recruiting volunteers in the college and arranging responsible persons, The Association sends volunteers to each cooperative community every weekday to help children finish homework, answer their questions, chat and play games with the children.

This activity creates a good and comfortable after-class learning environment, cultivates children to develop good learning habits, helps them to communicate, promotes the establishment of peer relationships, and effectively improves their learning and social skills.

3.SHIYUEUZHAN(U station in October)

The U station at Lide Gate, Shenzhen University, is designed to help passersbys. Regular convenience services at U station include provide free drinking water, city publicity materials, route guidance, storage supplies, simple medical emergencies, etc.. U station carries out different activities in each time period. The October event is organized by our association.
